Amanda

Orthodontic Technician

Born and raised in Alaska, Amanda has developed an affinity for the outdoors, with camping, hiking, kayaking and exploring at the top of her to-do list. Watching the sun go down in the summer while the skies never get dark is an amazing part about living in Alaska that she appreciates. On the job with DuClos Orthodontics since 2009, Amanda loves “helping kids on their braces journey.”

Carrie

Orthodontic Technician

Seeing the progress patients make toward a beautiful smile is a highlight for Carrie, who trained at Practical Dental Assisting of Virginia Beach. A relative newcomer to Alaska, Carrie grew up in Missouri, where she was an ace on the tennis court and saw the world from new heights as a pole vaulter in track and field. She's embraced the Alaska outdoors through biking, hiking, 4-wheeling, fishing, floating and photography. Crafting and baking are other passions. She strives to be her best in all her pursuits, taking inspiration from her family, friends and coworkers. Carrie is married to a Navy veteran, and together they spoil their chow chow, Pepper.

Cathy

Orthodontic Technician

After 40 years working in the field of orthodontics, Cathy is still inspired to see patients with nice clean teeth and a beautiful smile when the braces come off. She’s lived in Alaska around 25 years off and on, with 15 years on the DuClos team. Cathy and her husband love exploring Alaska in their airboat, with their two “fur babies” – two Australian shepherds – in tow. Hunting, fishing and sitting around the campfire are favorite outdoor past times, and Cathy also loves photography. Ask her about her amazing pics of raccoon families!

Cyndi

Scheduling Coordinator

A self-described, “people-person,” Cyndi’s favorite part of the job is working with patients and their families. She’s been on the DuClos team for more than eight years. On the home-front, this Palmer wife and mother promotes strong family ties, and connections with friends and community. For several years she volunteered at Butte Elementary and Palmer High School, where she ran football concessions and was a cheer mom. She and her husband of 28 years, Bob, enjoy fishing, camping, traveling and time with their two grown children, Chris and Sami Jo.

Emilee

Orthodontic Assistant

Not all patients would confess that they actually like going through braces, but having a positive orthodontic experience is exactly why Emilee chose her profession. (Fun fact: her orthodontist was Dr. DuClos!) She’s been an orthodontic assistant for two years, having earned her CMA. “I love seeing the transformation of patients’ smiles,” she says. When she’s not on the clock, Emilee loves spending time with friends, family and her fiancée. Hockey, running, and camping are favorite pursuits that give her time to appreciate Alaska for its beauty and adventure. As someone born and raised here, she says she’s proud to call it home.

Emily

Treatment Coordinator

Emily enjoys helping patients build confidence, which is an important outcome of creating a beautiful smile. She earned her Associates of Applied Science (AAS) in dental assisting from the University of Anchorage, and has four years experience as a dental assistant and one year as treatment coordinator. Born and raised in the Mat-Su Valley, Emily loves the mountains and seclusion of living in Alaska, as well as hiking in the outdoors. Other favorite activities include watching movies, home/gardening shows, and exploring Pinterest. Spending time with family is also important (including her twin sister), husband of 17 years, Jason, and sons Kobe and Connor.

Jamie

Financial Coordinator

Fishing in Alaska and enjoying the scenic outdoors is a big draw for Jamie, who was born and raised here. She’s worked at DuClos Orthodontics for three years, and really enjoys interacting with patients and watching them grow up. On the homefront, her 10- year old Yorkie, Thor, greets her at the end of a busy workday. She holds an associates degree in Business/Finance.

Manuela

Orthodontic Technician

The fast-paced, hands-on environment at DuClos Orthodontics is appealing to Manuela, who finds the profession to be very rewarding. “I love seeing our patients’ smiles transform,” she says. Manuela is the only team member who’s worked in dentistry on two continents. Her husband, Ben, was stationed in Germany and Manuela worked there for five and a half years as a dental lab technician. After returning to the United States, she earned her CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) from Lanier Technical College in Georgia. She and Ben, along with son Vincent and dog Jack have lived in Alaska since 2014. She enjoys traveling, reading and do-it-yourself projects around the house.

Sonya

Orthodontic Technician

For Sonya, building relationships with patients as they go through the treatment process is a highlight of being a 19-year veteran with the DuClos team. After 34 total years in the field, she doesn’t tire of seeing patients and their winning smiles. Outside the office, she enjoys gardening, bike riding, traveling, shopping, cooking and spending time volunteering for school functions. A resident of Alaska since age 12, Sonya loves the scenery and the laidback lifestyle. She has a son, a daughter, two grandchildren, and Sam and Sassy, her dog and cat.

Tonya

Orthodontic Technician

One of the best parts of working on the DuClos team? Getting to share the big day when braces are taken off! Tonya, who has been working at DuClos Orthodontics since 2012, likes to get patients excited about their straight teeth and beautiful smiles. She loves Alaska for its profusion of summer colors and dramatic winter white. Spending time in the outdoors is her passion, whether it’s gardening (she loves flowers), hiking, or riding a motorcycle or four-wheeler. Tonya is also creative, enjoying arts and crafts and jewelry-making.
